The Challenge
A site was built using ReactJS, arguably one of the most popular frameworks for creating rich, interactive web applications. But there were a lot of concerns connected with its SEO-friendliness while dealing with crawling, rendering, and indexing.
One of the most critical challenges we discovered was a severe page deindexation issue. Despite having over 10,000 pages published, only about 1,200 were actually indexed by Google, leaving the vast majority invisible in search results. Even more concerning, the Google Search Console (GSC) index coverage report showed a sharp downward trend, indicating that pages previously indexed were being rapidly deindexed over time. This not only limited the site’s organic reach but also made it impossible to grow visibility for their video content — a major goal for the platform.
Our Rock Solid SEO Strategy
Our first and most important step was to conduct a thorough site audit that helped us identify the cause of poor crawling, rendering, and indexing. We recommended fixing critical issues that existed in a site to make sure the site is technically healthy.
Besides, we performed a comprehensive Google Search Console (GSC) audit, which comprises a powerful combination of crawling and indexing analysis. The GSC contains several crucial reports that we used to identify and fix issues that could adversely affect organic search performance.
Here’s how we resolved the site’s deindexation issues and significantly boosted its organic traffic:
- Fixed Canonicalization errors (incorrect or missing canonical tags)
- Fixed Indexation issues (pages not getting indexed or rapidly deindexed)
- Fixed Internal linking gaps that are affecting crawl depth and discoverability
- Structured data and schema implementation gaps (especially video schema)
- Fixed Missing and outdated XML sitemaps
- Fixed Crawl errors reported in Google Search Console
- Fixed Duplicate content conflicts across multiple URLs
- Fixed Misconfigured robots.txt, meta robots tags, and X-Robots-Tag directives
- Fixed Improper or unintelligible URL structure (random IDs instead of descriptive slugs)
- Fixed Thin content on video pages (resolved by adding transcripts and captions)
The Results

Image: Initial Google Search Console coverage report showing severe indexation issues. Only 1.65K pages were indexed out of more than 10K, with 7.59K excluded, indicating major crawling and indexing problems.

Image: Audit report showing 1,120 pages marked as duplicate where Google selected different canonicals. This revealed serious canonicalization issues contributing to deindexation and poor visibility.

Image: After implementing initial technical SEO fixes, valid indexed pages rose to 7.33K, showing a strong positive shift in indexation and crawl activity.

Image: Further into the campaign, valid pages increased to 22.9K, showing sustained and large-scale indexation improvements after resolving technical issues and optimizing structured data, sitemaps, URLs, and other critical on-page and technical SEO issues.

Image: The performance report shows rapid growth in clicks and impressions after fixing technical issues (as marked on the graph). This demonstrates how improved indexation translates into higher visibility and traffic.
